Welcome to my site. My paintings, poems and photographs are inspired by the glorious natural world I inhabit, the mountains and forests of the Southern Appalachians They are the fruits of attention to everyday life and exploration of visual presence and memory. The paintings are constructed in layers and excavated, much as life and memory is formed. In abstract and semi abstract expressions and intense color, I work to capture the landscape of both internal and external worlds, always seeking to express their common essence.
